The cooperative of Salt Producers Fonte Salina De Rio Maior, CRL, was constituted in 1979 by about 80 Cooperators, currently the Cooperative has about 95% of all the salt pans in Rio Maior.
In recent years it has been recognized for its high quality, we were also recently awarded the DOP (Protected Domination of Origin).
In 2021 and 2022, in the 8th and 9th National Portuguese Traditional Salt Contest, we were awarded the gold medal Sal e Flor de Rio Maior.
